Ang Bobo Nitong Sagot!

June 15, 2005

Mr. Reggie M. Pablo
President
Mountaineering Federation of the Philippines

Dear Mr. Pablo:

(The contents of this letter expresses solely my opinion only and does not reflect the opinion of AMCI Mountaineering Club, Inc. and should not be treated as an official statement thereof.)

I am in receipt of an email regarding the Mindanao clubs position paper submitted to the MFPI.

Upon reading the email, I was disturbed by the allegation of Joel Pandatu that there was an attempt by you to discredit AMCI in their 2002 Induction Climb to Mt. Apo. Let me quote directly from the email: “your shadows are haunting you? I still remember during the height of AMCI-Mt Apo issue when you are fueling the fire and convincing me to file a complaint against AMCI so that you can terminate their membership. Is this the kind of trick that you think we are doing? Or this is what you were afraid of, that your tricks mayhave been exposed by Manny?” –allegation by Joel Pandatu.

If the allegation made by Joel Pandatu is true, then the Club decision not to renew the Club’s membership in the MFPI by the our members during my term as President of AMCI in 2004 is fully justified. Aside from the MFPI losing its raison d’ etre as a Federation, AMCI cannot be part of an organization wherein wrongful accusations have been made and our Club’s integrity attacked. It also explains why the report made by Manny Serina, then VP for Mindanao, absolving AMCI from any wrongful accusation was neither made public nor accepted by the MFPI.

I find it reprehensible that a President of a purported national federation would stoop so low in finding ways to expel a club that has done no wrong solely to satisfy his dislike, prejudices and hatred towards AMCI Mountaineering Club.

Sincerely,

Antonio Ramon T. Ongsiako
Past President (2004)
AMCI Mountaineering Club, Inc.

AND THIS IS HIS ANSWER:

Dear Mr. Ongsiako.

This is also a personal response to your email.

I will let the exchanges of email attached below speak for itself. I strongly suggest that you check your facts first before jumping to conclusions.

I am also attaching a letter of Park Superintendent Leonilo Rivera of the Mt. Apo Protected Area Management Board. This will present a different perspective on the issue. Perhaps you can share it with the other members of your organization. I know for a fact that there are more sensible members of AMCI than you. But I wont be surprise if you wont.

For the record, I have no hatred towards AMCI nor its members. Again, don't jump to conclusions.

And if I may add, I was then serving as the Vice President of MFPI. All the actions I did was in accordance with the instructions of then MFPI President Butch Sebastian. So I suggest that you also communicate with him.

I would love to react to your opinion, but I would not stoop down on your level too.

Regie Pablo

Yan ang sagot ng bobo. He did not address any of the issues I brought up. He did not deny nor confirm whether the allegations are true and whether the MFPI accepted a report from Mr. Manny Serina. BoBo.

Another Annual Event and A

A and I met up last nite. It was d best session so far. Maybe its because we might not see each other for quite some time. Thad is arriving and I'll be in Kinabalu till next week scaling Kinabalu. I'm gonna miss A. A lot.
A was jealous because of that tongue thing with J. He tried to pass it on as a joke but I could see that I hurt him. Sometimes I'm an ass. A stupid ass. Thad tells me so. (A: I'm so so sorry.).

We had another time honored event at Ultra. Its the annual Physical Test for the new trainees. Spotted a couple of sisters though.

After the physicals, the bonding session started. And Alman has got some serious competion for best trainee with Crystal. God, that girl is loud. And can she run.

I cant wait to go to Kinabalu. Its been a dream of mine.

OBESE PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED IN GYMS

I have nothing against obese/fat people in gyms. I have something against obese/fat people with poor personal hygiene. Yesterday, as I entered the locker room of my gym, I saw that my favorite locker assigned to me was open and this obese, milky white, ugly guy had his wet towel with his shoes and smelly socks inside the locker! I freaked! In a loud voice, I told him that the locker is assigned to me and could he please take his things out? He looked at me and to0k his things out. Since he was sooooooo fat I had to go around him. The gym should charge him extra for occupying too much space! I was sooo disgusted with the locker that I had the janitor clean the inside. I didn't care if he was staring at me. I glared at him and I saw sweat pour out of him. That didn't really alleviate the situation since he smelled so bad and that was after a shower.

I was just comforted by the thought that most obese people do not last long in gyms. The reason that they're obese is that they don't have discipline and going to gyms requires dicipline. Plus they'll die soon. Grrrr..... I hate fat people with personal hygiene problems.

WATTA WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!

In my previous blog, I wrote about looking forward to a great weekend. Well, the weekend didn't disappoint.

Friday night started out with A, coming over to spend the night with me. As expected, the sex was good. We even had seconds the next day. I'm gonna miss him when Thad gets back. Lol. Seriously, I'm gonna miss him. Period.

Rowell's wedding started late at the Manila Cathedral, a church destroyed, bombed and rebuilt. It's so old Europe in design with several chapels on the side. Rowell is my batchmate at AMCI. His climbing group was there. Oca was a secondary sponsor (in charge of lighting the candles. lol), Vanessa, Tey and Felix. Alex, Ian and Eli wasn't there. Vanessa gained weight and I told her so. Lol.
The reception was held at Barbara's about a couple of blocks away from the Cathedral in the old Spanish walled city of Intramuros. I always liked Intramuros. A Spanish city with a distinct Filipino heritage, it evokes memories of times past.
The wedding was meticulously planned by the couple with Rowell acting as the unofficial wedding coordinator. The tables were called by names significant to the couple like Annabel's, MRT Station 3, Gil Puyat Avenue, etc. marking milestones in the couple's life.
Oca and a classmate of Rowell from high school did the emceeing chores. As they called each table, the guests went over to the couple's table for the picture taking and afterwards proceeded to the buffet for some needed stuffing. Lol. When it was our turn, the waiter assigned to our table served us the food. We didn't have to line up for the buffet. The food, unlike most wedding food, was quite tasty and good. The mashed potatoes were real mashed potatoes. But the so called champagne (which isn't really champagne because it was not even made in Champagne, France. It is called sparkling wine. But only in the Philippines do they call this champagne) was a non-alcoholic fizzy cheap plonk.
The throwing of the bouquet and garten thingy had a completely new twist. I like weddings that keep all the traditions but are bold enough to innovate and experiment with new ideas. You can tell that the couple worked on this together.
Oca surprisingly was a competent emcee. Oca is not as witty or as irreverent as moi, but he's capable. Oca is ready to get married. He even has a house already. But he lacks one essential ingredient: a girl friend. Lol. Maybe Pres. Carla and Yaya Jing should make a good girl friend and wife for Oca. lol. Oca is hardworking, intelligent, and kuripot just like Carla and Yaya.
The reception ended at about 6:30pm just enough time to go home and take a nap and to go to the next revelry: Dan's Annual Independence Day Party!
I invited R to come with me to Dan's party. We met up at Chow King below Dan's building. R brought a friend along. Dan lives in one of those old buildings with lots of character. The elevator is an old Otis. When we got to Dan's abode, we were surprise to find out that we were the first guests there. Dan's mum is an Aquino. Yep, a sister of Ninoy. Dan is a very successful architect and he teaches part-time at UST.
Dan made us come in t-shirts with sayings on it. I came wearing my t-shirt that says "GRAB MY ROOSTER (COCK, for those dirty minded people!)". Dafy came in a t-shirt that said "mismo". Orly had at-shirt that said "i only sleep with the best" which is really open to debate. As the night wore on, guests came in very creative shirts that had all sorts to raunchy, naughty, bitchy sayings. Pretty soon, the place was super crowded. There were a sprinkling of women, mostly fag hags and Dafy's sister, Mabel. Daffy's other sister is Vicky Morales who he looks like in drag. Lol.
By 11:30, I had my 4th vodka tonic. I was feeling giddy and flirtatious and bitchy and beautiful. I knew more than half the people there. And those that I didn't know, I got introduced to.
Gay parties are fun. They're mostly stand up affairs with fabulous finger food, lots of booze, pretty waiters, themed clothes, and held in great apartments decorated in great taste and great artwork. Conversations are witty, smart, sharp, funny and bitchy. Flirting is de riguer. If you are the jealous type, don't even bother coming to a gay party. That's why parties given by gays are sooo much more fun! Straight parties are mostly sit down affairs held in houses or places (decorated by gays who snicker behind the straight host's backs for having such poor taste), pasable food with cheap wine. Straight parties start early and end up early like 11. They're generally boring with the guests who are so full of themselves and so so boring. And I can say that with authority! Lol.
From accoss the room, Junie signals to me and introduces me to his friends. J was one of them. Somehow, he took a liking to me. I could feel his eyes following me around the room. Lol. He kept on holding my hands and telling me that he's a very generous guy. Very "generous with sex". Lol. By the time I had my 5th vodka tonic, his tongue was being forced down my throat in Dan's balcony beside the koi pond. (If A reads this, I'm soooo dead).
I left for Bed at 1am with J. Bed was packed. There was a line stretching all the way to Orosa. I saw R and Archie outside and took them with me genereally ignoring the line and had Ella admit us immediately. I could see the faggots lined up wondering who we were. Too bad for the mere mortals, they had to line up! Lol.
We hardly made it up the stairs. I downed a couple more vodkas before switching to water. I was so drunk. I could feel that J was starting to touch me in all the "delicate"places in my body. He even took his shirt off. I knew then I had to leave. I was too drunk and in no mood to have sex. Lol.
I don't know what time I got home. But I went home ALONE. I had fun.
The next day, the fun I had was a distant memory. I had a dull ache in my head. A texted me. And so did Thad. That was nice. Two people I cared about were concerned about me. Then my phone rang. J tracked me down and he wanted to consumate what he started last night. Lol. I told him I had to go to Andy and Auggie's farewell swim party (see my past blog). I would rather have A than J even if J looks good. J's not as witty and intelligent as A. He seems to have a problem with his english skills and he's from DLSU. A loves Ateneans. Thats why I like A much much better. lol.
After having lunch with Mum, I went over to Andy and Auggie swim party. Almost the same people were there from last night. Someone even asked me if J went home with me. Lol. There were a couple of new guys there and they were gorgeous! Jeff my diver friend showed up and as usual flirted with me. But he stops everytime I dare him to have sex with me. The wimp. I know he wants me but is sooooo afraid to do it with me. Lol. He can't finish what he started. (If A reads this, I'm soo deadmeat).
The party broke up at about 7. And I went home to chill. Then at 10 Dan called to join the gang at Eric's unit that is accross the hallway from my unit. We had a karaoke session and Dan has this Vino. Vino seems to be smitten. Jason invites us over to his newly bought condo, renovated and decorated by Dan. He had his old condo unit rented out. I didn't go anymore with them to Bed since I wanted to recuperate.
Is age catching up on me? I vaguely remember having the energy to party all week in the not too distant past. Lol.
The next day, I slept late. Yaya came in with my gourmet tuyo breakfast. I lounged in bed for a while before dressing up to head to the gym. After doing 2 kms in the stepper running at lest 6k in the treadmill, I headed to Grappa's for lunch at Sucat in Britanny Bay. I had to meet up with a broker and a buyer.
Selling real estate is hard work. After a couple of works doing my sales talk, I felf beat. I headed home to buy a house warming gift for Jason and Mark. I got them a sake pitcher with tray and 4 small sake cups.
I went over to Jason and Mark's new condo at Scout Fernandez near Tomas Morato. Dan did the renovation and the decoration of the unit. For a 40sqm. unit that cost like P600,000 Dan did a good job. For P250,000 budget it was fabulous. Jason's place looked so much bigger than the 40 sq.m. it occupies. It had that jzuz.
Orly, Levi, Daffy, Eric, Vic, Arnel, Dan was all there. Dan just dumped Vino. Dan's says that Vino's dick was small. But knowing Dan, its more than the small dick. hahaha. Lol.
What a perfect way to end a great weekend. Now, its back to work. And reality. Lol.

Looking Forward to the Weekend

Its gonna be a busy busy weekend. Rowell is getting married on Saturday at 3pm. Dan is giving his traditional Independence Day party on Saturday at 9pm and to top Saturday off, its Bed's Anniversary Party! Gosh, I'm envisioning 2 costume changes. Lol.

On Sunday, I'm attending Andy and Auggie's farewell swimming party at Juan Salcedo. Hmmm... wonder if that will degenerate into something else. I had dinner though with the 2 of them last night at Kai. Anton San Diego (yes, he's the editor of Tatler, the society glossy magazine) hosted the dinner and as most good society editors is expected to do, knew everyone in my family and noticed my Patek Phillippe watch. Lol. Hay.... the perils of noblise oblige. Lol.. I must admit though, the dinner was good. At least the wine is not some cheap plonk.

Andy works for the U.S. Embassy as a diplomat in charge of US Citizen affairs. Auggie works there part time. They will be moving to DC for a three months before going on to Mexico City. Gosh all these gay diplomats that I've made friends with are all leaving.

First it was Jaap and Sonny from the Netherlands. They were assigned to Turkey. We had wonderful parties in their house in Dasmarinas Village. When Sonny was away, we had wonderful naked swimming parties with young college students and soldiers (yes, real soldiers from the AFP). Jaap loves to dive and he is a diving buddy. Sonny loves to party. They both met in New York. Sonny is Filipino and is legally married to Jaap. In the Netherlands, gay marriages are recognized by the state. Sonny even gets a pension from the Queen!

Now Andy and Auggie are leaving. They're taking their cat with them. Can you imagine if people actually knew that I'm close friends to a US diplomat? I might be deluge with never heard of relatives and some new found fake friends! Lol. That was why I was very careful in introducing them to people. I didnt want them taken advantaged of. And that's why I'm still their good friends. Plus the fact that they gave me these See's lollipops for my birthday. yum yum.

And Monday was declared a holiday. Whats a gurl to do with losts of time in his hands?

A TIME HONOURED EVENT

(Notice that I've used the British spelling ie honoured, colour, its another habit I picked up from A.Lol).

Yesterday, I was a busy bee. I started the day by putting on a Tyler shirt with french cuffs, Valentino suit and Kenneth Cole shoes. I went over to Thad's canteen to make sure everything is allright; met with James and Ma-le over coffee at Starbucks and went to the office to work and supervise the Visa MOA Cocktails. Made dozens of calls to Engel (the assistant that Finex hired for my committee. Yes, he is a fairy too!). Then Nian from Eon called me telling me that Jim Dixon has the mumps! She wanted to cancel the cocktails and I wanted to kill her for suggesting that. I simply told her that a representative from Visa will do. I need that P200, 000 for my committee mumps or no mumps!!!! Anyway that little crisis sorted itself out.

The cocktails at the Polo Club went smoothly without a hitch. Junie (my old dear very gay friend and owner of EON) and I made sure this went off without a hitch. The wine was good, the food was even better. Ever since the members of the Polo Club kicked out the old officers and directors and installed people like my uncle and his cabal, service and food has improved 200%!!!! The usual speeches and toast were the business of the day. Of course the dirty old men of Finex like Frank and Elmer were all over the nice looking innocent girls of Visa. Ed F. arrived late as usual and in his usual flaming queen style.

Then my phone started ringing. Omigosh, I the BMC Committee is calling! I'm wanted over the Orientation Night of AMCI. But I really couldn't leave yet because I had to wait till these old men, old women and younger flirtatious women left. For God's sakes, I'm the friggin host!

Finally, we said our good byes and off I rush to attend that time honoured event of AMCI, the prelude to the BMC, the Orientation Night. Needless to say as I entered the Molina Hall, I made a splash. I'm wearing a suit remember? I think I kinda stole the attention of the members and a few of the audience from Carla's presentation. Carla is our beloved and lovable president. She used to be the CorSec of the club when I was president and some spell that Oca and I put on her made her run for president. Now that she's president, all the headaches and all the dealing with wierd club members are her all hers now. lol. But she's lovable anyway. Her sidekicks are lovable too like Yaya and that spoiled brat Jenny.

I like the way the flow went. Pretty soon, I was up there making my spiel to the wannabees. With my usual charm and wit, I may have convinced or turned off a few of them. lol. But the committee made good choices in the emcees. Mau and Chic (yes Chic. I know I know, I still have to improve her taste in clothes) were excellent. They kept the flow going. The multi media presentation was good! But the boring part was the Columbia presentation. For a marketing company, they could have placed someone there with a little more panache and charm. He was booooring.

And as the wannabees started to leave, I got three of them to sign up. I even got a guy in his late 30's or early 40's with a hypertensive condition to sign up. Mountaineering is gonna be good to him. The physical activity will get his blood pressure down. Of course I had to use madam president as an example to get these wannabees to sign up. If Carla can do it, the wannabees can too!

Pretty soon, I was feeling kinda hot. So I left the time honoured event to go home, take my suit off, shower and change into comfortable shorts, t-shirt and flipflops to meet the gang at that time honoured destination called DigiCafe.

Ah yes our topic was the venerable MFPI civil war. It seems that Manny got an email from Manny of the MFPI Mindanao faction and Manny forwarded it to Oca who in turn called me earlier to forward it to me (confused yet??? Lol).
Yep, the Mindanao group is up in arms against the President and the Board of the MFPI. The same issues that we (AMCI) raised in the past and that caused our leaving the MFPI are the same issues that are now being raised. And to top it all, there was a plot hatched by that no good MFPI President, Regie Pablo to oust our club in 2002 from the MFPI. It was all revealed in that email chain. Well that justified us leaving the organization last year when I was President. Ha, who would want to be a part of an organization led by inept and morally flawed leaders?

Is it our fault that AMCI is made up of diverse individuals from different walks of life that are relatively more successful, better looking and better equipped than that of the MFPI? As the saying in my universe goes "PLEASE DON'T HATE ME BECAUSE I'M BEAUTIFUL." LoL.

suburban fashions and the weekend funk

last friday, i texted A if we were gonna see each other over the weekend. no such luck. he's going out with friends and that fever may have traumatized him. lol. anyway, i made plans with willy so, jun jun and willyboy to attend the opening night of Red Lanai over at filinvest alabang.

Red Lanai is owned by Chesa Zimmer and her cute hottie partner mike. chesa and i goes back a loooong way. i used to baby sit her when she was 9years old in that forgotten island called guam. her mom, yolly and i are good friends; one of my few friends in that god forsaken tourist trap of an island. there really is nothing to do in that island except hang out in the beaches (boracay's better) and go scuba diving (which is all not that great). night life is virtually zilch, people are so provincial in their mentality and intelligent conversation and good cultural events are virtually non-existent. but i digress.

anyway, chesa decided to open a bar with mike. last year, i brought the 2 of them to Bed and mike was literally felt up by all the gays.lol. serves him right for being good looking.lol. yolly, the doting mother, did the interiors of red lanai. it is RED. the walls are red. the decor minimal with touches of green flowers. i like the interiors but it could use a little more tszuj. it needs a gay touch! lol.

after the usual kiss kiss, hugging mike and chit chatting with yolly, we settled down for some food and serious drinking. we had several, beers, vodka tonics and 3 rounds of tequilas. but the music was something else. a mixture of dance, house and hiphopd. hiphop! yes hiphop. i can't stand hiphop. i don't know of any gays that likes hiphop. then i began to notice how people were dressed. do suburban guys have any fashion sense?

there were some great looking guys in lousy clothes but a few rare good looking guys in tight fitting shirts and acceptable jeans. and there were guys in flipflops who can't carry flipflops. but the worse sight i've seen are guys still in the hiphop era wearing, YES, hiphop fashions. i even saw a guy wearing loose cut off jeans with a t-shirt, necklace up to his chest and a sweater on a hot summer night! of course i had to make a comment "i didn't know hiphop was still alive in alabang".

chesa introduces me to her boy friend. ever the protective uncle, i warned him if he broke her heart, i'm gonna break his face. the only thing going for him is his haircut. we've got the same haircut.lol. he's gotta work on his fashion sense though. looks like he likes to wear plaids.

after red lanai, we headed off to Bed. everyone was out that night. eric, jason, mickey, dafy, levi, junie, ramil, jay etc were all in Bed. we got down to serious drinking and flirting. i don't exactly remember what happened after. all i know is that i don't know what time i got home. lol. i woke up with a headache. and an intense longing for A. I miss him you know.

saturday night was quiet. i had dinner with the same friends at ang hang then called it a night. i do miss A, terribly. I did wish he was beside me.

i called thad to get caught up with things. he's coming home on the june 23, the day i leave for kinabalu with mench and melody. i'm gonna pick him up at the airport at 5am and we'll drive down to clark to catch my flight. i was kinda pisssed off at him for not coming back on the 18th but he wants to spend a little more time with his family in new york. i do miss him though. terribly.

now comes a question that i'm dreading to face. thad's coming home on the 23rd. that means my days with A is fast dwindling. should A and i spend more time together then cut it off when thad arrives or should he or i start keeping our distance to "wean" us away from each other? i don't know how to answer this. i'll agree to whatever A decides.

why i am doing this?

before i go on with this blog, i've decided to use small letters. if you can't stand it, tough. lol.

2 blogs ago, i posted a question: why do i persist in doing things younger people effortlessly do? is it my refusal to age? esep esep me. why nga ba?

everytime i attend a reunion of classmates or a finex meeting or a rotary meeting and i see a bunch of people that are either older, slightly younger or about my age so out of shape with potruding bellies or lined faces with wrinkles, i get a kick of strutting my better physique. i also get an ego boost when i can keep up with younger people 20, 15 or even 10 years younger. An even bigger ego boost is that when younger yummy guys start noticing you, flirting with you and evenutally having sex with you without the need to exposing your wallet. that just confirms that you have that "asim" taste yet! lol.

I've had sex with guys in their teens (18, 19 and not lower than 18) or early to mid 20's. Sometimes in the middle of all this sex, I suddenly realize that these young guys are young enough to be my sons! And they are the ages of my nephews! maybe that's why i do all these things like working out, running, biking, mountaineering and scuba diving. its not really the sex but the realization that you can still do things in your mid forties.

i figured i still have a good 10 more years before i stop doing these things. but i am so scared to stop because i have this vision of aging very very rapidly, almost like a melt down if i stop. lol. oh well, if i ever did stop and start to age there is reliable visa and master card.

i just hope i'm filthy rich to buy the nice looking guys. and viagra and cialis. lol.
